Moving Across the Net to Stop High Percentage Shots.

Stick and Foot Placement.

Objectives:

1. Make Goalies aware that players shoot to the same spot from habit and that placing the stick and feet in certain areas will eliminate or reduce their scoring chance.
2. To teach the goalie how to perfect through repetition the proper move sequence across the net to stop the high percentage shots.

Objectives:
1. This drill focuses on the skill needed most by goalies. Speed allows the goalie to get to the bench quickly.
2. Running to the center of the floor allows the goalie to cover any potential long shots from the far end.

1. By holding the stick at 22 degrees out in front of your feet will allow the goaltender to give away a shot potential while actually offering a very low percentage shot.
